POONCH, NOVEMBER 28: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal on Thursday chaired a meeting to review forest clearance for proposed projects, disbursement of compensation for acquired land and removal of bottlenecks hindering developmental works in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of timely forest clearance and payment of land compensation. The stakeholder departments, including Revenue, Public Works and Telecommunication were asked to work in coordination to facilitate speedy execution of the works.

The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) was asked to expedite the forest clearance in Posha to facilitate the installation of the much-needed telecommunication tower. The meeting reviewed the progress of projects being executed by Border Roads Organization (BRO) and General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF).

The DC urged all stakeholders to collaborate effectively to minimize environmental impacts. He proposed measures to fast-track development processes and improve inter-departmental coordination for timely project completion.

“All legal issues related to forest clearance and land compensation must be addressed promptly, ensuring that developmental work proceeds without hindrance” the DDC added.
The meeting underscored a commitment to balancing development needs with environmental stewardship.
