DODA, JANUARY 30: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee on the Change of Land Use (CLU) here in the Mini Conference Hall to review implementation of the land use regulations and policy compliance in the District.

The meeting also scrutinized the petitions seeking Change of Land Use and approved 4 cases.
The meeting focused on streamlining the land conversion process while ensuring planned and sustainable development across the district. Officials from Revenue, Town Planning, and Rural Development departments participated, providing inputs on pending applications and adherence to government policies.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to balance development with environmental sustainability. He directed officials to prevent unauthorized land conversions to avoid haphazard urbanization. The committee also discussed expediting pending CLU cases, ensuring transparency in approvals, and maintaining proper records to prevent legal disputes. Harvinder Singh stressed the importance of a robust monitoring mechanism to track land conversions and prevent the misuse of agricultural land for non-permissible activities.

A total of five CLU cases were deliberated upon, out of which four were approved after a thorough evaluation. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to expedite the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for approved cases, ensuring all necessary documents are duly verified. He also emphasized the need for public awareness regarding land use policies, directing officials to educate citizens about legal procedures and environmental impacts. The meeting concluded with a commitment to ensuring a transparent, balanced, and sustainable approach to land development in Doda district.
