UDHAMPUR, MARCH 11: In view of upcoming Swachhta Survekshan 2025, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai, along with CEO Municipality Rajinder Digra visited Devika ghat and interacted with sanitation workers there.

During the visit, the DC urged the workers to intensify efforts to keep the city clean and emphasized the need for additional night shifts to ensure more efficient sanitation operations across Udhampur town.

During the interaction, the DC described sanitation workers as ‘Swachhta Soldiers’ and appreciated their dedicated role in maintaining cleanliness. She urged them to ensure the timely removal of garbage and maintain hygiene standards across the city.

Stress was laid on sensitizing shopkeepers about maintaining cleanliness around their establishments. The provision of dustbins outside shops was also emphasized to prevent littering and promote responsible waste disposal.

The CEO Municipality was asked to ensure that all sanitation workers are provided with necessary protective equipment, including masks and gloves to safeguard their health while performing their duties. She directed that all sanitation workers wear their official uniform while on duty.
