UDHAMPUR, JULY 27: District Development Council Chairperson Udhampur Lal Chand along with Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai today e- inaugurated various development projects completed in the year 2023-24 under the PMAGY and SCA to SCSP scheme by Department of Social Welfare Udhampur.
The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including, the Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh, District Program Officer, Mission POSHAN, Subash Dogra, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, DPO Dr Preeti Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta and a host of other officers besides former PRIs, Head masters of various High Schools and MS Schools were also virtually in attendance during the e-inauguration ceremony.
At the outset, the District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta briefed about the scheme and development projects during the year 2023-24, with a total investment amounting to Rs. 137.415 lakh. These development projects includes establishment of 06 Smart Classrooms, 04 Public Libraries, 02 Computer Labs, installation of 25 High Mask Solar Lights, 1 CSC center, 32 steel benches for public spaces, Installation of four water cooler facilities, Swings in Government Schools and infrastructure development in Anganwadi Centers.
In the event five villages namely Sounthan, Gandala, Jandrari, Tajoor, Baryal were declared as ‘Adarsh Gram Villages’ who scored above 70 points in the development index and expenditure very close to 20 Lakh.
The DDC Chairperson and DC also interacted with Ex PRIs, locals, school heads, students and emphasized them to avail benefits of these initiatives and ensure to keep these major assets safe and secure.
