KUPWARA, APRIL 25: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the applications received on the Mission YUVA portal.

During the meeting, a detailed assessment of the applications submitted by aspiring youth entrepreneurs from across the district was carried out. The DDC stressed the importance of timely scrutiny and transparent processing of applications to ensure that eligible candidates are extended the benefits of the scheme without delay.

Highlighting the objectives of Mission YUVA, the DDC underscored the need to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth by facilitating access to financial assistance, skill development, and handholding support. He directed the concerned officers to adopt a proactive approach in verifying applications and ensuring that all formalities are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The Committee undertook a review of pending loan applications at Bank Level. It was observed that the proportion of cases sanctioned by Jammu & Kashmir Bank remains significantly low in comparison to the number of cases approved by the DLIC.

The DDC also emphasized the importance of awareness generation at the grassroots level so that more youth, especially from remote and underserved areas, can avail the benefits of the programme. He instructed departments to organize outreach activities and assist applicants in overcoming procedural challenges while applying through the portal.

Reviewing the sector-wise distribution of applications, the meeting discussed opportunities in agriculture, allied sectors, small-scale industries, and service-based enterprises.

The DDC encouraged officers to guide applicants towards viable and sustainable business models that can generate long-term employment and contribute to the local economy.

He further called for close coordination among line departments, financial institutions, and implementing agencies to ensure seamless convergence and effective implementation of the scheme.

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Mufti Fareed ud Din, Lead District Manager, Cluster Head of Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Assistant Director Employment, Branch Managers of various banks, and other concerned officers.
