DDC reviews arrangements for month of Ramadhan in Reasi district

REASI, MARCH 02: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming holy month of Ramzan. The meeting emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate arrangements for the smooth observance of Ramzan in the district.

Various aspects were discussed during the meeting, including drinking water, power supply, security measures, traffic management, cleanliness, and market monitoring. DDC Mahajan directed the Municipal Committee of Reasi and Katra to maintain hygiene in and around the towns. The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department were directed to strengthen enforcement drives to maintain a proper check on the quality and rates of commodities, besides ensuring an adequate supply of ration during Ramzan.

The police authorities were tasked with maintaining necessary vigil and security arrangements. The Executive Engineer of the Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, especially during Sehri and Iftar. The Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology was directed to survey the market and check weights and measures regularly during the Ramzan month.

DDC also directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to check market rates and ensure uninterrupted power and water supply in their respective areas. He emphasized the importance of working in close coordination with the local community and religious leaders to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place. He urged all stakeholders to work together to make this holy month a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling experience for everyone in the district.

ACR Anshumali Sharma, SDM Katra Piyush Dhotra, Xen JPDCL and PHE, AC Food Safety, AC Legal Metrology, Dy. SP HQ, Tehsildar Reasi and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
