RAMBAN, MARCH 20: In a significant step towards ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process in Ramban, District Election Officer (DEO) Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary conducted an interactive session with district-level representatives of political parties. The meeting aimed to foster collaborative efforts in strengthening electoral mechanisms within the legal framework, in line with the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The meeting was attended by Deputy District Election Officer (Dy. DEO) Abdul Jabbar, Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) 54-Ramban S. Harpal Singh, and senior representatives of various national and state political parties.

During the meeting, the DEO apprised the political representatives about the ECI’s ongoing initiatives to enhance electoral participation and transparency. He emphasized that political parties are key stakeholders in the electoral process, as identified by the Commission, and encouraged them to proactively utilize this platform for engagement. He urged the representatives to submit their suggestions in a structured and written format to ensure their concerns and recommendations are duly considered.

“Political parties play a pivotal role in the democratic framework, and their inputs are invaluable in strengthening the electoral system. The Election Commission has established this decentralized mechanism to facilitate direct engagement and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders,” the DEO stated.

During the meeting, political party representatives raised various issues and shared their suggestions, which were thoroughly discussed. The meeting served as a platform to address electoral concerns and streamline the process in a manner that upholds democratic values.

Similar interactive meetings were also convened at the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) level across the district to ensure wider participation and comprehensive feedback from all stakeholders.
