KATHUA, APRIL 04: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner Kathua) Rajesh Sharma today reviewed the ongoing special camps being organized for Summary Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls at village Changran and Badala.
The camps are being held at designated polling stations for up-dation and inclusion of eligible voters. The DEO interacted with field functionaries and reviewed the arrangements for facilitating smooth enrolment and correction of entries.
Emphasizing the importance of the exercise, the DEO directed the staff to ensure 100 percent inclusion of all eligible voters in the Panchayat electoral rolls. He clarified that the Panchayat electoral rolls are separate from the Assembly electoral rolls and urged eligible residents to verify and ensure their enrolment in the Panchayat voter list.
He informed that photo identity cards shall be issued to voters enrolled in the Panchayat electoral rolls. Rajesh Sharma appealed to the public to actively participate in the ongoing special camps being held across polling stations. He also informed that a door-to-door verification and enrolment drive shall also be conducted during the revision period to ensure wider coverage.
Citizens were advised to carry requisite documentary proof while visiting the camps to facilitate hassle-free registration.
Dy DEO Nagesh Singh and other election staff accompanied the DEO during the visit.
