KISHTWAR, MARCH 28: As the nation gears up for General Lok Sabha Elections 2024, District Election Officer Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav spearheaded an impressive Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign in collaboration with  District Election Office, SVEEP Cell, and Education Department.

The successful execution of the campaign was made possible through the coordinated efforts of Deputy DEO Kishtwar, Idrees Lone (District Nodal Officer SVEEP) besides active involvement of all Stakeholders including School Education Department.

This initiative, held at HSS Binoon of Block Bonjwah in district Kishtwar, aimed to generate extensive awareness to foster greater participation in the electoral process.

The awareness campaign featured a painting Competition, rally and Nukkad Natak, drawing enthusiastic participation from school students at HSS Binoon and local artists who delivered impactful performances during the Nukkad Natak.

The rally, resonating with chants advocating for ethical right to vote  and highlighting the democratic ethos, commenced from HSS Binoon and culminated in Nali, Bonjwah echoing the message of ethical voting and the imperative of citizen engagement in the democratic process.

During the Painting Competition, students utilized vibrant hues to disseminate messages promoting electoral awareness.

The winners and participants in the painting competition were felicitated on the occasion by DEO in presence of District Information Officer Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Tehsildar Bonjwah, Tejinder Singh and Chief Education Officer, R. K. Vesheshta.

Addressing the gathering, the DEO underscored the importance of the SVEEP Campaign in enhancing voter awareness and urged voters to actively participate in the democratic process. He emphasized the significance of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election slated for April 19, 2024, within the Udhampur parliamentary constituency.

He shed light on the pivotal role of citizens in upholding the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the election period, urging responsible conduct from all stakeholders.

The DEO urged both new and existing voters to ensure enrollment in the Electoral Register and maintain contact with respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and the NVSP portal for seamless electoral participation.

Voter’s pledge was also administered by DEO Kishtwar to the participants on the occasion with a commitment to ensure ethical voting.
