GANDERBAL, JULY 01: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today conducted an extensive visit to Baltal to assess the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2025 via Baltal axis.

The Deputy CM chaired a high-level meeting at JKTDC Sonamarg and was briefed by the district administration and concerned departments regarding the measures being taken to ensure the safety, comfort and smooth movement of the pilgrims.

During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister held a detailed department-wise review of the Yatra arrangements at the Baltal Base Camp and along the Yatra route. Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing preparations, he commended the district administration and all line departments for their timely efforts in making adequate arrangements well in advance.

While interacting with the officers, the Deputy CM emphasized the importance of teamwork and inter-departmental coordination. “The departments are the face of the government on the ground and we must work together to ensure a safe and successful Yatra,” he said. He further stated that the successful conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra would send a positive message across the country and serve as a milestone in reviving tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the significance of the Yatra, he said, “This is not just a pilgrimage; it is a major festival for the entire Union Territory. Devotees from all corners of the country will visit and it is our collective responsibility to welcome and facilitate them in the best possible manner.”

The Deputy Chief Minister also commended the BRO for their significant contribution in development and maintenance of the Yatra track from Domail to the Holy Cave, which plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and accessibility for the pilgrims. He also urged all the departments to remain proactive and ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place, with a special focus on safety, sanitation, healthcare, traffic management and other essential services.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority, Bilal Mukhtar; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kangan; Executive Engineers from various engineering wings and other senior officers from the district administration.
