POONCH, DECEMBER 26: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of the initiatives under the SAMAGRA Shiksha scheme.
Chief Education Officer Lal Hussain Chowdhary, provided a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation detailing advancements in both construction and non-construction components of the program.
The meeting was informed that KGBVs have been established in Mendhar Chakbnola, Balakote Dargloon, Saral, Nangali Surankote, and Mandi. For the KGBV in Mandi, 19 Kanal of land has been identified in Loran Danna, which will feature a play ground and a middle school.
The Deputy Commissioner also discussed the status of girls’ hostels proposed for the district. He directed executing agencies to expedite construction works while ensuring that quality standards are upheld. Additionally, he emphasized the necessity of achieving 100% expenditure of allocated funds within the current financial year to prevent fund lapses.
An overview of the 254 ongoing Public Works Department (PWD) projects under the SAMAGRA Shiksha Civil initiative revealed that 91 projects are completed, 79 are in progress, 35 have been tendered, and 49 are currently in the tendering phase.
The Deputy Commissioner urged all Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to commit fully to the effective implementation of government schemes in their respective areas.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from all stakeholders to collaborate and ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.
