REASI, DECEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nidhi Malik on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to assess winter preparedness in the district.

SSP Paramvir Singh and ADDC Sukhdev Samyal, besides functionaries of other Government departments attended the meeting.

The DC reviewed the availability of snow clearance machinery, the stock position of essential commodities, and action plans prepared by various departments to prevent service disruptions during the winter season.
She emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to address potential challenges arising due to harsh weather conditions. Specific instructions were issued to key departments to expedite their preparations.

The XEN PMGSY was directed to complete the installation of crash barriers within the stipulated time frame, ensuring road safety during snowfall. The Food Department was asked to initiate winter stocking of essential supplies in snowbound areas without delay. Additionally, the DC directed the concerned officers to take up the matter of deploying a fire brigade vehicle in the Mahore area with higher authorities.

The Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to enhance buffer stocks of transformers and adhere to the electricity supply schedule to minimize power outages. The DC also called on all departments to accelerate the pace of ongoing works and prioritize monitoring to address public grievances effectively.

ADC Kulbushan Khajuria, ACD Pardeep Kumar, ACR Reasi Anshumali Sharma, SDM Katra and other concerned officials were present.
