JAMMU, OCTOBER 3: Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Poonam Sethi on Saturday reviewed the overall functioning and progress of the Health Department in district Rajouri here at a meeting.
During a tour to this border district, she was accompanied by State Tuberculosis Officer (SfO) Dr. Jyoti Jolly and her team, besides State ASHA Coordinator Johnson.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. ML Rana; WHO Consultant NTEP Dr. Ashfaq, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), all Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and other officers and officials.
The physical and financial progress of different National Health Programmes and departmental activities was reviewed in detail. The discussions covered National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) with special focus on case detection, notification, treatment and programme indicators – Non-communicable Diseases (NCD) Programme
The meeting assessed the Human Resources and manpower availability; Machinery, equipment and their functionality; Health infrastructure and ongoing requirements; DVDMS and supply-chain management; Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services; Clinical Establishments; PCPNDT Act implementation; Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (National Child Health Program), AMB and other departmental programmes
Additionally – the meeting reviewed the working of ASHA workers and their field-level activities, besides updating of programme data and records.
Special emphasis was laid on NTEP, NCD, health infrastructure, DVDMS and effective functioning of ASHAs. The Director Health Services reviewed the progress and discussed the issues and gaps with the concerned officers and programme teams.
