JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29: Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta today chaired a meeting here at the Krishi Bhawan to review the procurement of Giza-14 and K-343 paddy varieties and Kharif pulses, besides taking stock of preparations for the upcoming Reform Utsav 2026 and People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) – “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas.”
The meeting was attended by Joint Director (Inputs) Sanjay Anand; Joint Director (SLUB/Farms) Aman Jyoti Sharma; Divisional Seed Certification Officer Nirmal Parkash and other officers of the Directorate. Chief Agriculture Officers from Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Reasi and Udhampur participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The Director reviewed the district-wise procurement plan for Giza-14 and K-343 paddy varieties with a focus on ensuring adequate availability of quality seed to meet the demand for the forthcoming Kharif season. He stressed the need for timely assessment of district-wise seed requirements so that procurement and distribution could be planned well in advance.
Reviewing the procurement and expansion of Kharif pulses, Anil Gupta highlighted the importance of the Government of India’s “Atmanirbharata in Pulses” initiative and directed the Chief Agriculture Officers to undertake advance planning for meeting the requirements of the next Kharif season.
He directed the CAOs to prepare and furnish district-level beneficiary lists and demand details to the Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs) and Divisional Seed Certification Officer so that the required seed could be duly certified and procured by the Department. He also directed the concerned districts to submit Rajmash sowing reports to facilitate timely planning and procurement of Rajmash produce.
The Director also reviewed the availability of seed required for the coming Rabi season, directing the concerned officers to ensure adequate availability of quality seed across the districts.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for Reform Utsav 2026 and the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) – “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas,” scheduled to be observed from October 2 to December 31, 2026. Shri Anil Gupta directed all Chief Agriculture Officers to personally monitor the campaign at the district level and ensure effective participation of Agriculture Department officers and field functionaries in the Gram Sabhas to be held on October 2 in every Panchayat.
The CAOs were further directed to constitute district-level and block-level committees for effective implementation and monitoring of the campaign and ensure that details of the committees are shared with the concerned ADCs and BDOs. He directed that the field functionaries should create awareness among farmers about the flagship schemes, farmer-oriented initiatives and citizen-centric programmes of the Agriculture Department during the Gram Sabhas.
The Director stressed that all eligible beneficiaries should be covered under the relevant schemes during the campaign, with a special focus on achieving 100 percent saturation wherever feasible.
