Distribution Camp under ADIP, RVY schemes held in Kulgam

KULGAM, OCTOBER 07: Social Welfare Department, Kulgam, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), today organised a distribution camp under the Assistance to Persons with Disabilities (ADIP) Scheme and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) at the Conference Hall, Mini-Secretariat, Kulgam.

The camp was organised for the benefit of persons with disabilities and senior citizens, with the objective of providing them assistive devices to facilitate mobility, independence and improved quality of life.

The distribution was carried out in the presence of MLA Kulgam, Mohd. Yousuf Tarigami, District Social Welfare Officer Kulgam, Rameez Raja Ganie, and other officials of the Social Welfare Department.

More than 140 beneficiaries were covered during the camp and provided with various assistive devices as per their assessed needs. The devices distributed included hearing aids, battery-operated tricycles, wheelchairs, walking sticks, braces and other assistive aids.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare Department and ALIMCO in facilitating the beneficiaries and ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the intended sections of society.
