BANDIPORA, MAY 04: The ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan continued across Bandipora district on Monday with a series of mental health counselling sessions, IEC activities, awareness programmes and pledge ceremonies organised in educational institutions to spread awareness about substance abuse and mental well-being.
Awareness and Counseling sessions under Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan were conducted at BHS Onagam, High School Ahamisharief, HS Tarabal, HS Achoora, HS Jurniyal, PM SHRI GHS Odina, HS Wanpora, HSS Chuntimulla and Govt HSS PTL Gurez. Experts and teachers highlighted the importance of mental well-being, stress management and the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals and society.
Government Degree College Ajas, in collaboration with the Department of Ayush Bandipora, organised a session on mental health and stress management under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan. Dr. Irfan from Ayush Department delivered an awareness lecture accompanied by Dr. Iftikhar from Ayush Dispensary Ajas.
At HSS Gadakhud, lectures on mental health and substance abuse were delivered by students and teachers. who highlighted the psychological effects of drug addiction and stressed the importance of counselling and therapy.
IEC and awareness programmes under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan were also organised at Bonkoot C, Vijpara and Nadihal A Panchayat. PM SHRI HSS Shadipora organised an awareness session and mass pledge ceremony, wherein students and staff pledged to stay away from drugs.
Meanwhile, the Headmaster of Govt High School Garoora conducted an inspection of local shops near the school to ensure compliance with tobacco control regulations and sensitised shopkeepers against sale of tobacco products near educational institutions.
The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, teachers and community members, reflecting the collective commitment towards building a drug-free and mentally healthy society under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan.
