RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 03: In the wake of heavy rainfall, floods and landslides, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with SSP Arun Gupta and ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak today conducted an extensive tour of NH-44 and other vital roads in the district to assess damages and losses.
Prioritizing the restoration of road connectivity alongside water, power and other essential services, the District Administration is working on a war footing to ensure speedy relief to the public.
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the ongoing restoration works on NH-44. He directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to accelerate the pace of work for early restoration of traffic movement.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Pernote Bridge on the Ramban–Gool Road, which was damaged due to flash floods last night. He instructed the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to restore the bridge at the earliest to restore vehicular traffic and supplies to Sub-Division Gool and other areas of Tehsil Ramban.
Later, he inspected the Nashri–Sanasar Road and directed the executing agency to take immediate measures to restore vehicular movement.
Despite adverse weather conditions and other challenges, the District Administration continues its efforts to restore essential services and supplies besides ensuring seamless connectivity across Ramban district.
