UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER08: The District Level Softball Tournament organized by the District Youth Services & Sports Office Udhampur, in collaboration with the Softball Association, under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan today concluded here at Subhash Stadium with a grand closing ceremony.

Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai was the Chief Guest, while District Information Officer Neeraj Bhargav was the guest of honour.

This competition was held under the overall supervision of DYSSO Romesh Chander Mishra.
The program commenced with a formal welcome address by Jaswinder Singh, who anchored the event and introduced the guests.

A notable feature of the ceremony was the collective recitation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, wherein all present reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a drug-free society and promoting a healthy and purposeful lifestyle among youth.

While addressing the participants, the DC Udhampur emphasized the transformative power of sports in cultivating discipline, resilience and leadership among young individuals. She commended the DYSSO and the Softball Association for interweaving social responsibility with sporting excellence, especially under the ambit of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign dedicated to curbing substance abuse through awareness, education and engagement.

Over 150 students from different educational institutions of the district participated in the tournament, exhibiting outstanding skill, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

At the end, prizes and certificates were presented to the winners and all participating teams.
As part of the closing ceremony, a felicitation segment acknowledged the relentless efforts of Jatin Sethi, Ashok Magotra and Chairman Kabaddi Association Yash Paul Buland, who played a crucial role in the successful organization of the event.
