ANANTNAG, JULY 16: As part of the celebrations for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, a district-level function was organized by the Cooperative Department, District Anantnag, at Town Hall Achabal.

The event was attended by Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Anantnag, Muzaffar Ahmad Beigh, District Development Manager (DDM) of NABARD, Rouf Zargar; Assistant Registrars, Chairmen of Cooperative Societies, and a large number of basic members.

Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of the cooperative movement and its crucial role in promoting financial stability and the socio-economic development of its members.

In his address, Deputy Registrar urged members to adopt a collective approach rather than working individually to achieve financial growth and sustainability.

DDM NABARD spoke about the ongoing initiatives aimed at registering Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in rural areas to expand the reach of the cooperative movement and bring more people under its fold.
As part of the programme, saplings were planted within the premises of the Kuthar Cooperative Marketing Society Ltd., Achabal, under the theme Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam.
