SRINAGAR, JULY 01: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of allied works pertaining to the 60 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Noorbagh.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo; Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb; Chief Engineer, KPDCL; Superintending Engineer, UEED; Executive Engineer, NBCC; and officers from the R&B, PHE, and other concerned departments.

Reviewing the status of the project, the Divisional Commissioner directed NBCC to complete all pending works at the STP by July 31. He also instructed the agency to share details of households connected to the STP with the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to facilitate effective monitoring and coordination.

To ensure the accuracy of household connectivity data, the Divisional Commissioner directed that a joint team comprising officials from UEED and NBCC undertake verification and consolidation of all connections. He further directed the concerned departments to install power transformers at both the inlet and outlet points of the STP to ensure uninterrupted power supply and smooth operation of the facility.

The Divisional Commissioner emphasized the importance of timely completion of the remaining works and called upon all concerned departments to maintain close coordination for the successful commissioning and efficient functioning of the project.
