SRINAGAR, JUNE 23: Ahead of the observance of 8th Muharram, the Divisional Administration has put in place elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth, peaceful, and orderly conduct and observance of Muharram processions.
In a coordinated effort, Civil and Police administration have put in place all necessary arrangements and established effective mechanism to facilitate the peaceful observance of Muharram processions while maintaining public safety and law and order.
Senior officers from the administration, police, health, municipal, fire and emergency services, power, water supply, and other concerned departments have been detailed with responsibilities for the execution of arrangements.
The administration has undertaken extensive measures including route management, deployment of adequate security personnel, traffic regulation, sanitation drives, uninterrupted power and water supply, emergency medical assistance, installation of control rooms, and round-the-clock monitoring.
Civil and police administration have also been instructed to maintain close liaison with Muharram committees, religious organizations, community representatives, and local volunteers to facilitate the smooth conduct of processions and religious gatherings.
The general public has been requested to strictly follow the advisories and guidelines issued by the District Administrations and Police Department and adhere to prescribed routes and timings for processions.
Organizers and participants are requested to observe all safety protocols, maintain communal harmony, and avoid any activity that may disrupt public order or inconvenience during the procession and are also requested to extend full cooperation and support for the peaceful and smooth observance of Muharram processions.
