POONCH JULY 02: A District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting under Mission YUVA was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal. The meeting aimed to review and approve self-employment cases under the NANO Enterprises component of Mission YUVA and to assess the overall progress of implementation in the district.
The session was attended by key district-level officers and stakeholders involved in the execution of the mission.
Additional District Development Commissioner Pankaj Mangotra (Nodal Officer, Mission YUVA); Khalid Wafa, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC); Abdul Majid Tantray, Deputy Director District Employment and Counselling Centre; Chief Agriculture Officer; District Sheep Husbandry Officer; District Horticulture Officer; Assistant Director, Handicrafts/Handloom; Lead District Manager (LDM); as well as the Nodal Officers of Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) attended.
The meeting commenced with an overview of the progress made under Mission YUVA in the district, with particular focus on the promotion of NANO Enterprises aimed at generating livelihood opportunities for the local youth. The chairperson emphasized the significance of Mission YUVA as a flagship initiative to empower unemployed youth through the provision of financial and institutional support to initiate micro-enterprises across various sectors.
A total of 40 cases were presented before the committee for consideration and approval under the NANO Enterprises category. Each case was reviewed in detail and discussed thoroughly. The proposals were examined in light of feasibility, sustainability, sectoral representation, and the potential to create employment opportunities.
Following extensive deliberations and scrutiny, all 40 cases were approved by the committee. The decision reflects the district administration’s commitment to fast-tracking the implementation process and ensuring timely support to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Deputy Commissioner, while appreciating the efforts of all departments involved, underscored the need for inter-departmental coordination and timely follow-up to ensure smooth implementation.
The meeting reiterated the district administration’s resolve to continue supporting youth-led entrepreneurship initiatives and to remove bottlenecks in the implementation of government schemes. The committee expressed satisfaction over the growing interest among the youth to benefit from such opportunities and called upon all stakeholders to sustain momentum by ensuring transparency, efficiency, and inclusiveness in the process.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair and all present members for their active participation and valuable inputs.
