SRINAGAR, JUNE 11: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar organized a meeting-cum-orientation and training session for the SAATHI Unit Committee members of District Srinagar at the ADR Centre, District Court Complex Srinagar.

The session was held with the objective of preparing stakeholders for the effective implementation of the SAATHI campaign across the district.

Sajad Ur Rehman, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar (Chairperson of the SAATHI Unit Committee) chaired the meeting, which was attended by officers and officials from the District Administration, District Child Protection office, members of the SAATHI Unit Committee, and other key stakeholders.

Some stakeholders and panel lawyers also joined the session virtually, ensuring broader outreach and participation.

The session served as a platform to deliberate on the campaign’s goals, streamline coordination mechanisms, and finalize the strategy for its implementation.

SAATHI campaign is a focused initiative aimed at identifying, supporting, and rehabilitating destitute and vulnerable children within the district. The campaign underscores the commitment of DLSA Srinagar to ensure such children gain access to education, healthcare, legal aid, and various social welfare schemes, thereby fostering a protective and nurturing environment for them.

During the session, participants were oriented about their roles and responsibilities under the SAATHI framework. Detailed training was provided on conducting field surveys, identifying destitute children, maintaining proper documentation, and linking identified cases with the appropriate welfare mechanisms. Emphasis was placed on inter-departmental coordination and active community involvement as essential components for the success of the campaign.

The meeting concluded with a strong and united resolve from all attending departments and stakeholders to work in close coordination and take proactive steps towards achieving the objectives of the SAATHI campaign.

The initiative is expected to make a significant impact in safeguarding the rights of underprivileged children and ensuring that no child in the district is left behind due to poverty, neglect, or lack of support.
