DODA, APRIL 03: In a groundbreaking achievement, Doda district has successfully delivered 5,000 recycled school desks to government schools across the region, marking a significant milestone in education and sustainability.

This innovative initiative, implemented by Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), funded by SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited under their flagship CSR initiative MASS (Mantra for Advance Sustainable Solution) and supported by the District Administration Doda, showcases a pioneering approach to environmental conservation and resource utilization.

The culmination ceremony, held here in Community Hall, was attended by DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal; Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh; DDC Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Bhagat; Founder & Director, IPCA Ashish Jain and Secretary IPCA Ajay Garg and other Officers of District Administration. The event featured a lamp-lighting ceremony, the inspection of a stall showcasing a skit on “Plastic Waste Management,” and the release of a booklet titled “Shaping the Future of Waste Management.”

In his address, DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal highlighted the need for better infrastructure in schools, calling this initiative a significant step towards enhancing the education system in Doda.

Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh praised the contributions of all stakeholders and emphasized the importance of these steps in enhancing the education system in the district. “A student’s bright future is our aim,” he added.

The Director IPCA, while promising further collaboration, stressed on the need for plastic waste segregation and reuse to prevent soil and water pollution.

The flagship MASS Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative has successfully transformed low-value plastic waste into high-impact recycled products, promoting sustainable waste management practices and improving educational infrastructure.

Certificates were distributed to acknowledge the efforts of contributors and stakeholders, and a cultural program was held to celebrate this achievement.

In a pledge to further environmental conservation, attendees vowed to promote waste segregation, recycling, reducing, and making the environment free of pollution.

This initiative serves as a model for innovative approaches to education and sustainability, and its impact is expected to be felt for years to come.
