DODA, MAY 27: A comprehensive review meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, Manoj Kumar at his office chamber to discuss the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The meeting was attended by Block Development Officers (BDOs) of various blocks across the district.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the status and resolution of court cases pertaining to MGNREGA works. The ACD instructed the BDOs to prepare updated factual reports in all pending court cases and ensure timely representation in legal proceedings to safeguard departmental interests. He stressed the importance of proactive communication with legal authorities and district-level legal cells for the effective handling of litigation.

The ACD also reviewed the grievances registered under MGNREGA and directed the BDOs to address public complaints within specified timelines. Emphasis was laid on prompt redressal, transparency in work execution, and ensuring timely payments to job card holders. He also instructed for a proper grievance redressal mechanism to be maintained at the block level with regular follow-ups.

Furthermore, the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under MGNREGA—such as timely completion of works, percentage of labour budget utilization, geotagging of assets, Aadhaar-based payment systems, and job card verification—were thoroughly reviewed. The ACD directed all BDOs to focus on enhancing the quality of assets, increasing labour participation, and adhering to the approved labour-material ratio. He urged officers to ensure all works are uploaded on the NREGA Soft portal in real-time, and regular monitoring be carried out to meet performance benchmarks.
