RAMBAN, MARCH 25: Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Varunjeet Singh Charak today chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review the progress of the door-to-door National Manuscript Survey being conducted under the Gyan Bharatam initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Sheraz Ahmed; District Statistics and Evaluation Officer; Tehsildar Headquarters; Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council and Executive Officers from MC Batote and Banihal. The Chief Education Officer, Principals of the Degree Colleges, Tehsildars and Block Development Officers participated through virtual mode.
Detailed deliberations were held on finalization and approval of the list of surveyors, area-wise allocation and distribution of survey responsibilities and dissemination of information regarding the application, including its usage and reporting protocols. Emphasis was laid on ensuring proper training and orientation of field staff for smooth execution of the survey.
Later, Prof. Dr. Jahangir Iqbal Tantray, Coordinator, Cluster Centre Gyan Bharatam J&K, Department of Persian, University of Kashmir, conducted an online session. He sensitized participants to the technical aspects of the door-to-door survey, functions of the Gyan Bharatam web portal and other key components of the National Manuscript Survey. He also encouraged all the participants for dedicated efforts to preserve and document the rich manuscript heritage of the region.
