BANDIPORA, MARCH 27: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, has issued a public notice regarding the annual revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026, with 01-04-2026 as the qualifying date.
The DPEO informed that the draft electoral roll will be available for inspection at the concerned ERO/AERO offices and polling stations. Eligible electors have been encouraged to verify their entries and submit claims or objections, if any, within the stipulated timeline.
As per the notified schedule, the draft Panchayat Electoral Roll shall be published by the concerned ERO at polling stations as well as in the offices of the ERO and AERO on March 27, 2026, in Form PER-1 across all Panchayat constituencies of the district.
The period for filing claims and objections for inclusion, deletion, correction, or transposition of entries has been fixed from March 27 to April 29, 2026.
To facilitate voters, special camps shall be organized at polling booth locations on multiple dates in April, where Panchayat Election Booth Officials (PEBOs), along with BLOs, will assist the public and provide necessary forms.
It was further informed that the disposal of claims and objections will be completed by May 8, 2026, while the final Panchayat Electoral Roll will be published on May 15, 2026.
Requisite forms for electoral roll corrections and updates will be available with EROs, AEROs, and PEBOs to ensure convenience for the general public.
This exercise is being carried out specifically for Panchayat elections, which are separate from the Assembly electoral roll, to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled and able to exercise their basic right to vote.
