During the inspection drive, one medical shop namely Prince Medical Store at Ruzloo was closed on the spot for violations detected under the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

The inspection team also lifted three drug samples from different medical establishments for testing and analysis to ascertain their quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Besides, several medical establishments were inspected to verify maintenance of mandatory records, adherence to licensing conditions, installation of CCTV cameras and implementation of computerized billing systems as per prescribed norms.

Officials stated that such inspection drives shall continue on a regular basis to curb the misuse and illegal sale of scheduled and habit-forming drugs and to ensure the availability of safe and quality medicines to the public.
