Elderly man drowns to death in Dal Lake

Srinagar: An elderly man was drowned to death here at world famous Dal Lake on Saturday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a man identified as Ali Mohammad Dar of Abi-Nowpora locality of Khanyar drowned in the lake this morning.

He said that a rescue operation was launched by the concerned authorities and after hectic efforts; the body was retrieved from the lake this afternoon.

The official said that the body was later handed over to the family for last rites, while police have taken cognizance of the incident—(KNO)
