Exorbitant Prices of Essential Commodities: Admin Action Missing!

Recently, the price of food goods like poultry and other necessities has skyrocketed, crushing the finances of many homes. Those from low-income backgrounds have found this to be particularly true as they strive to make ends meet. It is no secret that the expense of living is increasing, and a big part of this increase can be attributed to the outrageous prices of poultry and other necessities. These charges might be absolutely crushing for people who are already having financial difficulties. It not only makes it difficult for people to meet their fundamental necessities, but it also has an impact on their capacity to save money. Exorbitant costs for poultry and other necessities on the market have a wide range of repercussions. They affect farmers, retailers, and producers in addition to customers.

Due to the high cost of production, farmers are finding it difficult to turn a profit, while producers and merchants are finding it difficult to generate enough revenue to cover their costs. As a result, the entire economy is struggling, which is causing poverty and unemployment to increase. Given the severe circumstances, immediate action is required. Government should take steps to safeguard farmers, retailers, producers as well as consumers against exploitation and make sure that the cost of basic goods is maintained at an affordable level. To help people who are having a hard time making ends meet, Government has to chip in.

There is a price increase, for sure, but there are also those market participants who actively encourage price increases by stockpiling. The demand rises as a result of the supply being constricted, and when the demand is strong enough, the dealers and those in charge of the market get to set the prices. Every time that is done, the poor and those from low-income categories are the ones who suffer the most. The Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, which is active only on occasion, has a responsibility to play in this situation and must guarantee that the prices of the vital commodities are maintained under control. Although prices are higher than average, forcing people to pay more unlawfully has a negative impact on them. The truth is that the current circumstances are further crippling the poor economically.

It should be highlighted that the poor are particularly affected by price increases since they typically lack the savings or cushion needed to cope with them. Further aggravating their financial predicament, rising prices also lower the value of the poor’s earnings and deplete any savings they may have. Government must recognise the reality on the ground and make sure that everyone has access to inexpensive food and other necessities. To prevent the poor from suffering even more, it is necessary to maintain control over prices as well as market regulation. The underprivileged who already struggle greatly shouldn’t be left to fend for themselves.
