RAMBAN, MARCH 31: In line with the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, a one-day Eye Screening and Cataract Surgery Camp was successfully conducted today at District Hospital Ramban under the guidance of Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kamal Jee Zadoo.
The camp was coordinated by Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban, Dr. Sudershan Singh Katoch, ensuring smooth conduct of all activities and delivery of quality eye care services.
The NPCB and VI Nodal Officer, Dr. Jatinder Kaur also played a key role in the successful implementation of the camp.
During the camp, a large number of patients were screened for different eye ailments, while 23 patients successfully underwent cataract surgery. The surgeries were performed by the ophthalmology team comprising Dr. Farooq Ahmad Runyal, Consultant Ophthalmology, GMC Doda and Dr. Iffat Runyal, Medical Officer (MS Ophthalmology), District Hospital Ramban.
The ophthalmology team was ably assisted by the operation theatre staff of District Hospital, ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures for patients from Ramban and adjoining areas.
The Health Department Ramban expressed gratitude to the Directorate of Health Services Jammu and the NPCB team for their continued support and commitment towards strengthening public healthcare services in the district.
