DODA FEBRUARY 29: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sudershan Kumar today chaired a meeting to discuss the District formulation of District Environment Plan (DEP). The primary focus was on environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources.

He emphasized the need for updated information to enhance the quality of the environment. He instructed concerned officers and officials to provide timely inputs and plans relevant to their departments to ensure the approval and execution of the consolidated DEP.

The meeting reviewed progress achieved in different action areas by different departments, including afforestation, waste management, restoration of water bodies, and enforcement guidelines for mining and waste disposal. Concerned officers briefed the ADC on the progress  achieved by their departments regarding the implementation of DEP.

The DEP aims to tackle a wide range of environmental concerns, such as waste management, water quality, wetland conservation, air quality, and noise pollution.

The meeting, attended by SEs of PWD and PMGSY, CMO Doda, CEO Doda, DFO Doda, Division Officer of Pollution Control Board Doda, and EOs of Doda, Bhaderwah, and Thathri, along with representatives from other departments, highlighted the collective effort towards environmental conservation and rejuvenation in the district. Additionally, DFO Bhaderwah participated virtually in the meeting.
