ANANTNAG, MARCH 29: As part of its efforts to ensure the safe and quality food for the general public, Food Safety Department Anantnag raided a godown and seized 2172 kilograms of deteriorated dates belonging to various brands. The estimated market value of the seized stock is Rs. 1,300,000.

The seizure was made on the basis of a complaint about the sale of deteriorated dates.
During the raid, enforcement samples were taken from the seized stock for further analysis. These samples will be sent to an NABL-accredited laboratory for detailed examination to determine the exact quality and safety of the dates.

The Food Safety Department remains committed to safeguarding public health and ensuring that consumers have access to safe, wholesome, and quality food products. The department urges all traders and consumers to report any unsafe or substandard food items they may come across as part of our collective responsibility to maintain food safety standards in the district.

The Food Safety Department is dedicated to taking swift and stringent action against anyone involved in the sale of unsafe or deteriorated food products to protect the health of the community.
