JAMMU, MARCH 22: Government College of Education (GCOE) today commemorated World Water Day by screening an inspiring documentary.
The commemoration was jointly organised by National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nature Club of GCOE centered around the renowned water conservationist, Dr. Rajendra Singh.
The highlight of the event was the screening of a compelling documentary showcasing the life and work of Dr. Rajendra Singh, often referred to as the ‘Water Man of India’.
Through this documentary, attendees gained valuable insights into Dr. Singh’s pioneering efforts in water conservation, highlighting his significant contributions to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal, GCOE, Dr. Jyoti Parihar; Prof. Sarita Dogra NSS Program Officer and Dr. Shalini Sharma Convener of the Nature Club.
Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Prof. Kiran Thapa and Prof. Roopa Kumari, actively engaged with students during the screening and subsequent discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges and solutions related to water conservation.
Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal of GCOE, on the occasion expressed delight at the successful event, stating, “World Water Day is a reminder of the vital role water plays in our lives and ecosystems. Through initiatives like these, we aim to inspire our students to become responsible stewards of our precious water resources.”
