GCW Nawakadal organizes spectacular Talent Festival ‘Ignite Your Creativity’

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 18: The Department of Home Science and Hospitality & Catering Technology of Government College for Women, (GCW) Nawakadal, organized a spectacular Talent Festival 2024, themed ‘Ignite Your Creativity.’

The event aimed to foster creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
The festival was inaugurated by college Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Farooq Mir. The festival featured over 40 stalls showcasing students’ talents in Handicrafts, Food (indigenous delicacies like Harrisa, Barbeque, Masala Tchutt, Pani Puri, Bakery and Confectionery), Jewelry, Mehndi Art Calligraphy and Paintings. The event also highlighted the singing talents of some students, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The Talent Festival 2024 witnessed an overwhelming response, attracting visitors from across the college and beyond. This initiative demonstrates the college’s commitment to nurturing students’ creative potential and entrepreneurial spirit.

During the event, the Principal praised the students’ exceptional talents and encouraged them to continue exploring their passions. He also commended the Department of Home Science, its faculty and supportive staff for their voluntary support to students.

Prof. Mir said that the ‘Earn While You Learn’ initiative embodies our college’s dedication to empowering students with practical skills and entrepreneurial minds.
