GDC Ramgarh organizes One-Day Workshop on Anti-Drug Abuse awareness

SAMBA, APRIL 28: The NCORD Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh successfully organized a one-day workshop on Drug Abuse Awareness, highlighting the pressing issue of substance abuse and the role of community in prevention and rehabilitation.

The programme was held under the esteemed guidance of the College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, who emphasized the need for educating young minds about the harmful consequences of drug abuse and fostering a drug-free environment within society.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance with knowledge and awareness.

Prof. Brahm Dutt (Convener NCORD) delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the menace of drug addiction. The proceedings were efficiently conducted by Ms. Jagmeet Kaur, a student of Semester VI, who anchored the event with great enthusiasm and professionalism.

The resource person for the workshop was Gharu Ram Bhardhwaj, Additional SP Samba and Nodal district officer NCORD who delivered an informative and engaging talk. The session included a comprehensive discussion on the causes, consequences, legal implications, and preventive strategies related to drug abuse. He also interacted with the students, addressing their queries and encouraging them to become responsible citizens in the fight against drug addiction.

The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, fostering a spirit of unity and patriotism among the participants. The entire workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, reaffirming the college’s commitment to promoting a healthy, informed, and drug-free society.

The entire event was coordinated by Prof. Brham Dutt, NCORD Convener with support from faculty members including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Ashok Kumar and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra.
