KATHUA, AUGUST 12: The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramkote, in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society, today organised a poster making competition to observe International Youth Day 2025.

The event, held under the guidance of Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul, aimed to generate awareness among college students about HIV/AIDS, its impact on society and the role youth can play to curb it by engaging them in health and wellness initiatives. The activity is part of a two-month-long campaign in J&K for creating awareness about AIDS and related issues.

Students of BA Semester 1st, 3rd and 5th participated in the competition with great enthusiasm to showcase their creativity. Prof Suresh Chander, Convener Cultural Committee, judged posters based on creativity, message clarity and visual appeal. Tanu Devi of Semester 1st secured first position, Nitakshi Sharma of Semester 3rd secured second position and Raghbir Singh from BA Semester 3rd stood third.

The Red Ribbon Club planned to display the posters in the college campus to continue spreading awareness on HIV/AIDS and promote health awareness and education.
Coordinator Red Ribbon Club Prof Anu Sharma organised the event.
