GDC Vijaypur hosts screening of documentary-Drug Addiction Destroys Lives

SAMBA, MARCH 17: Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee of Government Degree College Vijaypur today screened a Documentary -Drug Addiction Destroys Lives, to generate awareness among the college students and locals about the impact of drugs on mental, emotional and social health.

The program was organized under the guidance of Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Verma.
The event started with the welcome address by Nodal Officer Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee, Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat. He said drug abuse has led to a detrimental impact on the society which further led to increase in the crime rates in the country.

The documentary screened helped the students to understand that Drug abuse can have serious consequences for the individual and society as a whole. They learned that on an individual level, drugs can damage physical health, including organ damage, infectious diseases and overdose fatalities.

The College Principal noted that only a collective approach from lawmakers, healthcare professionals, educators, community leaders, and individuals themselves can combat drug abuse.
