SAMBA, FEBRUARY 28: Department of Political Science, Government Degree College Vijaypur on Friday organised an awareness campaign on three new Criminal Laws here on College Campus.

The program started with the welcome address and introduction to Resource Person Rakesh Singh by Dr Anjana Raina.

In his lecture, the Resource Person elucidated that India has recently implemented new criminal laws: “Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita” (BNS), “Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita” (BNSS), and “Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam” (BSA), which would effectively replace the old colonial era codes: The Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act respectively. He also highlighted the key points to remember about these new laws.

The Programme was conducted under the guidance and overall supervision of the College Principal Prof Dr. Vandana Gupta. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Sandeepa Kotwal
