GDC Vijaypur organises Special Lecture on “B. R. Ambedkar: The Architect of Indian Constitution”

SAMBA, APRIL 08: In continuation to the series of activities being organized to commemorate the B. R. Ambedkar Jyanti, Department of English, in collaboration with NSS unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur organized a special lecture on the theme “B. R. Ambedkar: The Architect of Indian Constitution”.

The program was organized under the able guidance and supervision of the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Ashu Vashist. NSS volunteers attended the lecture with great enthusiasm and zeal.

The lecture began with a formal welcome address by Dr. GunjeetMahiwal (Lecturer Department of Education). Dr. Indu Koul (Lecturer Department of English)delivered the lecture to the students. In her address, Ms. Koul highlighted the contributions of Ambedkar in framing and designing the Indian Constitution. Ambedkar drafted the Indian Constitution, which gave equal rights to people irrespective of caste, race, religion and culture. He also worked for education and basic welfare of Dalits. He also raised his voice for public drinking water and entry of Dalits in Hindu temples.

The event was carried out with full support of the senior faculty members Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology), Dr. Arti Sharma (HOD Environmental Sciences) and Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Environmental Sciences).It was coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography). It was co-coordinated by Dr. GunjeetMahiwal (Lecturer Education) and Dr. Indu Koul (Lecturer English).
