JAMMU, MAY 23: In a continued effort to promote gender equality, awareness camps on gender sensitization were organized today by Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM), in collaboration with Mission Shakti (District Hub for Empowerment of Women) Social Welfare Department across the areas of Mathwar, Chatha, and Mandal in Jammu District.
During the sessions, officials from Mission Shakti engaged with local women and girls, highlighting the importance of gender equality and challenging long-held stereotypes. The participants were encouraged to break free from traditional roles and embrace opportunities in all fields.Also detailed information was provided regarding all the women centric schemes and services by the officials of Mission Shakti DHEW Jammu.
“Girls and young women are capable of achieving anything. There are no jobs or roles meant exclusively for men,” said a Mission Shakti official during the camp.
The initiative aimed to empower women at the grassroots level and reinforce the message that every individual deserves equal opportunities regardless of gender.
