JAMMU, JUNE 03: A Gender Sensitization and awareness program on government schemes and services was today organized at Chak Malal by the Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM).
The event was specially designed for Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members and adolescent girls, aiming to raise awareness about gender equality, women’s rights and the importance of creating a gender-sensitive society.
Through interactive sessions and group discussions, the participants were educated on issues such as gender stereotypes, domestic violence, legal rights and the role of women in decision-making, both at home and in the community.
Officials from Mission Shakti highlighted the government’s ongoing initiatives to empower women and encouraged SHG members to actively participate in awareness campaigns and community development activities.The program received an enthusiastic response from the attendees and reinforced the collective commitment toward building a more inclusive and equitable society.
