District Level Workshop on Good Governance practices & initiatives held at Shopian Panchayat level grievance, service delivery camps held across the district

SHOPIAN, DECEMBER, 23: District Level Workshop on Good Governance practices and initiatives was today held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta here at Mini Secretariat, Shopian, as part of the ongoing “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign aimed at strengthening public grievance redressal and service delivery.

Workshop commenced with a welcome address by ADC Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz,who elaborated the significance of organising the district worksop.

The session was followed by an inaugural address by the Chief Guest Showkat Aijaz Bhat, former Deputy Commissioner, Shopian who highlighted the importance of innovation, accountability and people-centric governance in strengthening public service delivery. He stressed that good governance must translate into timely, transparent and citizen-friendly service delivery at the grassroots level.

Chief Horticulture Officer Shopian presented specific points of District @100, outlining the horticulture sector developmental vision and scheme achievements.

Short films showcasing district-level initiatives was also presented on the occasion detailing the achievements of different government schemes and district initiatives for accelerating the developmental and welfare parameters of the district.

The workshop featured presentations on good governance practices implemented in the district, covering key areas such as public service delivery, horticulture, animal husbandry, health, education, social welfare, grievance redressal and public works.

ADDC Shopian,Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone in his address, appreciated the efforts of departments for their contribution in the ongoing campaign.

District, Sectoral officers besides officials of all line departments participated in the workshop along with public.
Meanwhile, grievance redressal cum services delivery and awareness camps were held by Rural Development Department in association with tehsil administrations and line departments in scheduled Panchayats of the district.
