Srinagar: An army soldier was injured in an encounter with militants at Mitrigam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
A top police officer told GNS that during initial exchange of firing, one army soldier received minor injury and was removed to a hospital where his condition is stated to stable.
Earlier a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation on a specific input.
As the joint team intensified searches towards the target spot, officials said, the hiding militants fired upon them, leading to an encounter. Presently there is lull at the spot even as cordoned remains intact, they added. (GNS)
