SAMBA, MAY 17: To empower students by providing a vibrant platform to learn and share knowledge, Government Degree College Samba has established a Gyan Vatika- Book Reading Club on the College Campus.
District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma inaugurated the vital facility also marked by screening of documentary on Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
The DC complimented the college for starting the Gyan Vatika and exhorted that the book club should inculcate a fashion for book reading and facilitating creative and insightful discussions.
The creation of Gyan Vatika (Garden of knowledge) evokes a sense of relaxation and serenity and implies a place where book lovers can gather and explore literature together. Gyaan Vatika aims to fashion a vibrant platform where book enthusiasts can share knowledge, ideas, and literary enjoyment over insightful discussions while fostering personal and collective growth. Gyan Vatika highlights fortnightly activities such as Book Talks, Author Spotlights, Genre Exploration, Guest Speakers, Lit Quiz, Book Swaps, Filmclips etc.
