UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 10: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram has commenced in the district with special emphasis on Jan Bhagidari and maximum public participation.
Briefing the media persons here, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the campaign is being observed across the district from August 9 to 17. He appealed to people of the district to participate enthusiastically to make Har Ghar Tiranga a true people’s movement. He urged youth, students, prominent citizens, former PRIs, social organisations and civil society members to actively participate in the campaign, proudly display the Tiranga at their homes and join the Selfie with Tiranga initiative.
He further informed that a series of activities have been planned across the district during the campaign period, including mass singing of Vande Mataram, Tiranga Bike/Cycle/E-bike rallies, Partition horrors remembrance day programmes, Independence Day celebrations, Tiranga-themed illumination and decoration, Rangoli, quiz, debates competitions and cultural activities in educational institutions and public spaces.
Earlier, a district-level mass singing programme of Vande Mataram was organised at DC Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan; ACP Dr. Ashwani Hansa; District Information Officer Neeraj Bhargav, along with other officers and officials participated in the programme.
Officers and officials from government departments and educational institutions also participated in the mass singing of Vande Mataram through virtual mode, reaffirming the spirit of patriotism, national unity and collective participation in the commemorative campaign.
