High Court conducts written exam for Junior Assistant posts across J&K; orders re-exam for 67 candidates in Jammu

SRINAGAR, JULY 20: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Sunday conducted a written examination for the posts of Junior Assistant at multiple centres across the Union Territory through an outsourced agency.

During the examination, it came to the notice of the High Court that at the “Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardani, Kot Bhalwal” centre, the supplied examination material fell short. As a result, 67 candidates were not provided OMR answer sheets and question booklets, and could not appear for the test.

The matter was immediately reported to the High Court by the Registrar, Recruitment. Taking cognizance, the High Court has decided to conduct a fresh examination exclusively for the affected 67 candidates. The re-exam will be held within two weeks, with the date, time and venue to be notified separately within the next two days.

The Court has also ordered an inquiry into the incident to ascertain the reasons for the shortage, identify lapses at all levels, fix responsibility and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.

Reiterating its commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process, the High Court assured that no prejudice will be caused to the affected candidates on account of the incident.
