ANANTNAG, MARCH 25: In order to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and train officials from various departments to become effective advocates in the fight against substance misuse, a training session for resource persons under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan (Drug-Free Campaign) was conducted today at Dak Bungalow Anantnag.

The session was attended by a diverse group of resource persons from across the district, including representatives from the Health, Education, Revenue, and Social Welfare departments.

The training was designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to address drug abuse in their respective spheres of influence.

Several distinguished speakers from different fields delivered impactful lectures on the hazardous and far-reaching consequences of drug abuse. The sessions highlighted the critical need for a collective approach in combating this growing social menace. The experts also discussed preventive measures, rehabilitation strategies, and the role of each department in creating a drug-free environment.

The chief guest of the event, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Fayaz Ahmad Banday, emphasized the importance of community involvement in the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan. He commended the district’s efforts in addressing the drug abuse issue and urged all participants to take an active role in spreading awareness and implementing measures to curb drug abuse.

The training session also featured representatives from various government departments, who participated enthusiastically, ensuring that the message of the campaign reaches every corner of the district. Further sessions are expected to continue as part of the broader Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, aimed at reducing drug dependency, promoting healthier lifestyles, and fostering a safe and supportive community environment.

This initiative marks a vital step towards making Anantnag a drug-free district, and it reflects the government’s commitment to improving public health and well-being.
