Srinagar, May 09 : Amidst the intense cross-border shelling across various sectors near the Line of Control (LoC), Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Nalin Prabhat Friday visited forward areas in Kupwara.
Director General of Police’s (DGP) presence, as per the news agency on the ground is not only aimed at assessing the situation but also at uplifting the spirits of the forces on ground.
DGP Prabhat’s continuous visits demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring the safety of people and morale of the troops.
The visit comes amidst the persistent cross border shelling by the Pakistan army along the line of control, which has left nearly 15 people dead and several others wounded.
The intense shelling along the LoC has also forced the government to shift many of the families in the affected borders areas to the safer places where arrangement have been made by them to ensure adequate facilities to the border dwellers
