BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 28: An Inter-College Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Sadak Suraksha–Jeevan Raksha” was today organized at HKM Government Degree College Bandipora as part of ongoing Road Safety Awareness initiatives aimed at sensitizing students about responsible road usage and preservation of human life.

The programme was held under the guidance of Principal HKM GDC Bandipora, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra.
Students from various colleges including GDC Sumbal, GDC Ajas, GDC Hajin and the host college participated enthusiastically in the competition, showcasing their creative skills and spreading awareness on the importance of road safety.

The event was jointly coordinated by Convener Road Safety Club, Dr. Mubashir Hamid Mir, along with the NSS units of the college. Participants presented thought-provoking posters and slogans highlighting key issues such as prevention of rash driving, use of helmets and seatbelts, adherence to traffic rules, pedestrian safety and collective civic responsibility.

The entries were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Dr. Mohammad Ashraf (GDC Ajas), Dr. Firdous Ahmad (GDC Hajin), Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Parrey and Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Khan (HKM GDC Bandipora), who appreciated the participants for their creativity, originality and strong social messaging.

In the Poster Making category, Farkhanda Reyaz, a 4th Semester student of the host college, secured the first position, while Iqra Wani, a 6th Semester student of HKM GDC Bandipora, secured the first position in the Slogan Writing category. The winners will represent district colleges at the State-Level Competition scheduled to be held at IASE Srinagar on March 5, 2026.
